Dr. Frédéric R. Santer

I started as a co-worker of the Urology Lab in late 2007 as junior postdoc, now, finding myself after more than 12 years at this institute and after receiving my habilitation in 2016 as an Associate Professor. After return from paternity leave, I am currently starting with a new project funded by the Fondation Cancer Luxembourg on AR splice variants mediating endocrine therapy resistance in prostate cancer. A PhD student shall join me by July 2020, as well as further Master Thesis students to help quickly advance this project and other related AR variant projects. Furthermore, I am still interested in PARP inhibitors for prostate cancer, where I am currently developing a method to test patients for their cells’ homologous recombination efficiency. Besides research I am also involved in curricular and PhD teaching and have a task in the works council of the Medical University.
